Apple’s revolutionary iPad will no doubt rock the world of academia. Recently, four major public publishers: McGraw-Hill, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, Pearson, and Kaplan Publishing are seeking to merge traditional textbooks used in the college setting for e-readers. The e-reader textbooks will be made in full color, illustrations, audio, and additional features that students would not be able to receive from traditional paper books. Further, students will be able to highlight, take notes, and complete assessement quizzes using the iPad application.
